Research Paper Outline


Introduction:
  1. According to Mike Davis author of planet of slums, nearly 80% of Nigeria’s urban population, or some 41.5 million people live in the slums.
  2. A slum is were people go to save money when they have very little money it is very crowed place.
  3. Slums have a negative impact on the humans because those who live in slums must drink dirty water, are prone to diseases, and live near to on a sewage.
  4. Although slums help people to save money they have to take a risk in drinking dirty water.
Defendable point #1
  1. People living in the slums don’t drink clean water they have to drink dirty water.
  2. “By United Nation’s definition, their residents are missing at least some of the following durable walls, a secure lease or title, adequate living space, and access to safe drinking water and toilets.”
      II.   It means that people in the slums are lacking all of  those stuff.
  1. It is bad for people to be drinking dirty water it could kill many people who drink    
It.
  1. They also could be killed by diseases that they could get by living in the slums   
because there is no good doctors there.
Defendable Point #2
  1. People who live in the slums could be more prone to diseases.
  2. They used to make do by sneaking into a nearly outhouse that belongs to some else. She takes me down a muddy, slippery path to show it to me.
II.   If they have no good place to go to the restroom then they could get diseases         
       because they are not using a clean restroom.
  1.  If they get disease then many people could die in the slums and that will lower
       the population of the world.
  1.  People who live in the slums also live next to or in the sewage.
Defendable Point #3
A.      People who live in the slums live in or on the sewage.
B.      The foul river carries not just sewage but also chemicals from farming estates outside the slums.
      II.    This means that people don’t just live in the sewage but also in a place where
        chemicals pass through that could be deadly chemicals.    
C.      If you live in this place it could smell really bad and you could also die because 
        of the chemicals.
D.      This is why all theses examples have a negative impact on humans.
Conclusion
A.      Living in a slum could save you money but it also has it down side to it.
B.      Slums have a negative impact on humans because those who live in the must drink dirty water, are prone to disease, and live near to or on a sewage.
C.      That the slums is a bad place to live and you shouldn’t live there even though your trying to save money.
D.      The slums are a crowed place and a dirty place hoe do you think the little kids growing up in the slums feel. They have to go through all of that every day cause they live there.
